Day 2

HA! Day two. Again, not starting out so well. Mary calls me first thing in the morning to see if I would bring her a spare key to her Expo because she locked her kids in the car at the Y. I kind of laughed and said of course I would. She calls a few minutes later to tell me she got in so I didn't need to come down there. Well, we were packing the car to go to Mary's house. We were going to be staying the night there since we had borrowed one of their cars the past few weeks since ours was already in MO. Not 30 min after she calls me I load Emma up in the car while Madison is "driving." I of course don't have any pockets so I put the keys in the door handle. I say to myself, "Don't forget you put those there because I just know, SOMEHOW, Ill lock my babies in the car." Sure enough, as soon as I feel myself closing the door. Almost in slow motion, I realize that Ive left the keys and Maddy hits the lock button. We called Mary this time to bring us a key. Maddy was so good. She tried SO hard to push the unlock button and tried everything we asked her to. And if Emma starting fussing she, suprisingly, gave her a binky (I thought she would steal it for herself.) I was so proud of my little girl. Such a big girl. I was proud of Emma too. She took it well. I was a little tramatized but that's okay. The rest of the day we just spent playing at Mary's and then Darla babysat the twins and Maddy so Mary and I could go to dinner with April (another spouse in the company) before we left. Funniest part about the day is that I learned of two other people that locked their kids in the car and also Mary's aunt locked her grandbaby in the car. What a wierd day.
