Marching to the park after the duck attack.

Maddys "new" friend, at "old" Navy. hehehe. Darla said that.

Today was a bit more eventful for me! The morning was boring but after nap time, (bummer it was only 30 min) but then we were going to feed the ducks at the park! Bagels in hand, Darla dropped off Madison and me at the park and we walked to the water. I wish I had a video of the entire process but alas, I dont. You'll just have to imagine. Picture this....
Madison running excitedly to the water and about halfway there, the ducks (geese I guess, HUGE geese!) starting to walk towards us. I thought it would be like any other time I've fed ducks where they stay a few feet away and you have to toss the bread out to them. Sometimes you get the brave ones that will take it from your hand but thats about it. Well, these ducks started towards us and got closer and closet until I realized they weren't stopping. They were literally as tall as Maddy but obviously much bigger around. We started backing up and they got faster when they saw us moving away. Maddy started crying that she was scared and said, "Scary ducks! Get away!" They started swarming us so I put Madison on top of a picnic table and we started to feed them anyway. Then they started attacking me! They were actually biting my legs! It hurt! So I jumped up on the table myself to try to figure out how to get away from these ducks! They started climbing the table! I called Darla and expressed what a bad idea this was and told her to hurry back. I started throwing the bagels as far away as I could to get them to leave so we could get away. Maddy just stood there clutching her bagel and crying but they were NOT going to leave without that bagel. I took it, threw it, and we ran! As we were crossing the bridge another woman was walking up with her son and a loaf of bread. I warned her but she said they come here all the time and they were fine. About 30 seconds later though, I saw the ducks swarm, her kid cry, and her dropping the loaf of bread. She threw her son over her shoulder and ran to her car! She should have listened to me. We decided the playgroud was a safer place to wait for gma to come get us.
We also went to Old Navy to get Maddy a winter coat (with my lovely 30% discount for veterens day) and to eat at Applebees with Papa and Gma. Maddy was awful. She was probably still traumatized from the ducks....
We WILL use the potty! I've decided. That's my goal this week....to get her to at least TRY!
